The number of annual colon cancer deaths in recent years is about 30,000, twice as many as 10 years ago. With strong influence from European and American dietary practices on Japanese dietary habits, the number of colon cancer cases is expected to rise sharply in the future.

Those who are qualified	Residents of Hachioji who are 40 and older (excluding those who can receive a check-up at the work place).
What is included in check-up	(i) General questions (ii) Stool occult blood test: immune method -- 2 day blood occult test method A close examination is required if the stool blood test is positive. Even if the stool blood test is negative, the physician may order diagnosis by a medical institution as a result of general history.
