Next, install manae.prc and a J-OS Style Kana-Kanji dictionary. (If you use Sony CLIE, install manaemori.prc, too.)
Open manae's preference form and check Non-SKK mode.
(If you know
SKK
well, you may prefer the default setting.)
At first, run the Memo Pad and create a new memo.
Next, graffiti some alphabets into the field.
You will see a 'A' on the lower right conner of the form.
Double tap the upper left quarters region of Graffiti Alphabet area to change the mode.
You will see a Hiragana character "" on the lower right conner of the form.
This is the "Hiragana mode". Your roman graffiti inputs are converted to hiragana.
If you want the hiragana into the field, graffiti the 'Return' character.
Inputing "kana"
Inputing a return character.
Double tap the upper left quarters region again.
You will see a Katakana character "A" on the lower right conner of the form.
This is the "Katakana mode".
A next double tapping changes the mode into alphabet.
Inputing "kanji"
Input ' ' (a space character), Hiragana will be converted to Kanji (Chinese Characters).
Graffiti a "Return Character" to insert the field.
Let's input " (kanji)" again.
You should input "kan" only.
Now, you can find 3 candidates below input line.
If you want select the left candidate "", you should
double tap the upper left quarters region of Graffiti Alphabet area.
(Do *NOT* tap the candidate directly.)

Inputing Japanese Characters
Kana-Kanji Conversion
In Hiragana Mode, you will find the reverse triangle character "" in front of hiragana characters.
This triangle shows "Kana-Kanji Conversion Mode".
(If you didn't check Non-SKK mode, Kana-Kanji conversion mode starts with a capitalized character same as SKK.)
